DaimlerChrysler Corporation Appoints New Director of Dealer Relations
    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 4 / -- DaimlerChrysler Corporation
announced the appointment of Fernando Falcon as Director of Dealer Relations
for its Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep(R) and Dodge franchises, effective
immediately.  In this position, Falcon will be responsible for continuing to
enhance the relationship with the DaimlerChrysler U.S. dealer body, working
closely with the National Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep and Dodge Dealer Councils.
    Previously, dealer relations was managed by Gary Dilts, in his previous
role as Vice President, Retail Strategies and Dealer Relations.  Dilts was
recently appointed Vice President, E-Connect Platform Team and is now
exclusively focusing on DaimlerChrysler Corporation's e-commerce strategy and
technologies.  The newly created position of Director Dealer Relations
demonstrates the increased emphasis and resources DaimlerChrysler Corporation
is putting into its dealer relationship activities.
    "I can tell you from the feedback National Automobile Dealers Association
receives from the field, the relationship between DaimlerChrysler and its
Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep and Dodge dealers is extremely positive," said Jim
Willingham, Chairman, National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA).
    "We have made significant progress in building a true partnership with our
4,400 dealer entrepreneurs and the result is that our customers receive the
best possible experience in our Chrysler, Plymouth Jeep and Dodge
dealerships," said John MacDonald, Senior Vice President, Sales and Service.
"We feel the time is right to dedicate one person to this role full-time."
    Falcon most recently served as the zone manager in DaimlerChrysler
Corporation's Denver Zone Sales and Service office.  Falcon joined Chrysler in
March 1987, as a sales trainee in the Chicago Zone.  Thereafter, he held
several sales and service positions throughout the country.
    In addition to the creation of the dealer relations position, two new
Dealer Council chairmen have been appointed for the company's Chrysler,
Plymouth, Jeep and Dodge franchises.  Thomas Barenboim of Clark Chrysler-
Plymouth in Methuen, Mass., will assume the role of National Chrysler,
Plymouth, Jeep Chairperson.  Fred Brillanti of Landmark Dodge, Inc. in
Jonesboro, Ga., will serve as National Dodge Chairman.  The Dealer Council
chairmen represent all of the company's dealers and serve as a liaison between
those dealers and DaimlerChrysler Corporation.
