New EPA, OSHA Compliance Programs for Vehicle Maintenance

FINDLAY, Ohio--(AutomotiveWire)--Feb. 3, 2000--Environmental Development Corporation (EDC) has recently updated and expanded its environmental and safety program for auto service and fleet maintenance operations.
EDC has just published an expanded, updated version of its Environmental and Safety Compliance Audit System (CAS) for Vehicle Maintenance and Refueling Operations.
The CAS identifies areas out of compliance with federal, state and local environmental/safety regulations. It assists the user in finding solutions, prioritizing corrective actions and setting target dates for completion. Contained in the CAS are helpful worksheets, forms and lists, including a summary of EPA/OSHA training and recordkeeping requirements. The CAS will assist organizations in meeting international standards for environmental management (ISO 14001 certification) and provide a standardized method of organization-wide auditing. The 88-page, 900-question checklist and workbook covers EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations and hundreds of best management practices in 45 sections. An electronic version is planned for release in May.
EDC has also added two new videos to its environmental program for auto service and fleet maintenance operations. Each video focuses on innovative pollution prevention methods which have proven and significant cost-savings.
EDC has recently published a new environmental and safety training program for technicians and the 2000 version of its Environmental Guidebook. EDC has recently made national agreements with the National Automotive Parts Association (NAPA), Sears & Roebuck, Toyota and the U.S. Southeastern Region of the U.S. Postal Service.
