Carl R. Daniels, Jr., Joins Midas as Vice President, Logistics
ITASCA, Ill.--Feb. 3, 2000--Carl R. Daniels, Jr., has joined Midas. Inc., as vice president of logistics, a newly created post. He reports to Wendel H. Province, Midas' chairman and chief executive officer."Carl Daniels brings a wealth of retail distribution experience," Province said. "He will make key strategic logistics contributions as Midas continues to enhance distribution of wholesale automotive replacement parts to Midas franchisees and other customers."
Daniels, 46, most recently was senior vice president of logistics at Pamida, Inc., of Omaha, Neb., a subsidiary of retail chain ShopKo. He previously served in senior logistics management posts at other retail chains, including Boscov's, Associated Dry Goods and Joseph Magnin.
He is a member of the Council of Logistics Management and serves on the steering committee of the International Mass Retailers Association (IMRA).
Midas is one of the world's largest providers of automotive service, including exhaust, brake, steering and suspension, as well as batteries and maintenance services. There are more than 2,700 Midas locations in 19 countries, including 2,100 in the United States and Canada.
