Windfall do Brasil, Delivers First Product Shipment From Brazilian Facility
INDAIATUBA, Brazil, Feb. 3 -- Windfall do Brasil, a
MascoTech, Inc. company , announced today the shipment of a new
powder metal brake piston to Bosch Braking. The shipment is the first from
the facility, which was established by Windfall Products in May 1999.
"We are very excited to begin supplying Bosch in South America from our
Brazilian operation," said Jose Correa Neto, Windfall do Brasil sales manager.
"Shipping our first order from this facility has sent a powerful message. It
demonstrates our commitment of creating exceptional value for Bosch, an
important customer."
The Brazil facility uses powder metal applications to manufacture small
and medium sized structural and magnetic parts such as pistons for brake
systems, starter motor components for starter motor applications and oil jet
assemblies for diesel engines. Windfall do Brasil intends to produce parts
for automotive component and system suppliers in the South American automotive
market. Windfall also serves non-automotive customers.
"There are great opportunities for new powder metal applications,
conversions and localizing programs in South America. This first shipment
signifies another step forward in making our vision a reality," said Marcos
Dompieri, Windfall do Brasil general manager. "It is another sign that we are
serious, and aggressively moving forward in satisfying the South American
market, and it demonstrates our commitment to supporting our customers
globally."
On August 26, 1999, MascoTech announced the acquisition of Windfall
Products, Inc. of St. Marys, Pennsylvania, a leading manufacturer of
transportation-related powder metal components. The launch of Windfall do
Brasil follows the recent completion of a powder metal parts plant in Ramos
Arispe, Mexico, and the 1998 launch of a powder metal parts plant in Valencia,
Spain, establishing MascoTech Sintered Components as one of the world's
largest independent powder metal manufacturing companies, with eight
facilities in Europe, North America and South America.
MascoTech, Inc. is a diversified manufacturing company with world-leading
metal forming process capabilities and proprietary product positions serving
transportation and industrial markets.
