New Mobil(R) Drive Clean Blend(TM) Delivers Advanced Cleaning and Superior Engine Protection in a Semi-Synthetic Motor Oil
FAIRFAX, Va., Feb. 2 -- Exxon Mobil Corporation
announced today the introduction of Mobil(R) Drive Clean Blend(TM), a new
synthetic blend motor oil that combines Mobil 1 synthetic technology with
high-quality conventional oil to deliver engine protection above and beyond
the capability of conventional motor oil. This product is targeted to the
conventional motor oil user who is interested in the extra engine cleaning
benefits Mobil Drive Clean Blend provides. The advanced engine-cleaning
formula contains active cleaning agents that work constantly to rid engines of
harmful dirt and contaminants, promoting longer engine life.
Mobil Drive Clean Blend joins the family of Mobil lubricants, which
includes Mobil(R) Drive Clean Oil(TM), a premium conventional oil that also
contains special cleaning additives. It also joins the company's flagship
Mobil 1(R) Tri-Synthetic Oil(TM), which offers unsurpassed engine protection
and performance through better wear protection, high-temperature stability,
cold-temperature performance as low as -62 degrees F and outstanding
protection from deposits and sludge.
Mobil Drive Clean Blend is a mixture of both conventional oil and man-made
synthetic oil that provides greater all-season and all-temperature performance
than conventional motor oils. Mobil Drive Clean Blend flows more easily at
low temperatures than conventional oils, a benefit for both cold-morning
startups when engine parts need lubrication quickly, and for stop-and-go
driving when engines don't fully warm up. It also performs well in high
temperatures and resists breakdown as engine temperatures rise, a
characteristic that is especially helpful for hotter running turbocharged or
light duty diesel engines.
"By combining the Mobil advanced synthetic technology with a high-quality
conventional motor oil base we have created a blend that delivers superior
lubrication at high temperatures and flows easily at low temperatures to
protect vital engine parts," said Nancy Carlson, ExxonMobil's North American
automotive lubricants manager. "This formulation, together with an enhanced
additive system to fight acid build-up and sludge formation, will help
consumers keep their engines clean."
Mobil Drive Clean Blend is available in two of the most popular viscosity
grades for modern motorists, 10W-30 and 5W-30. It will be offered starting in
February at quick lube shops and car dealerships, including Penske Auto
Centers. Mobil Drive Clean Blend will be available shortly thereafter at a
wide range of retail locations including auto parts stores, mass merchandisers
and Mobil service stations.
Mobil Drive Clean Blend meets or exceeds the most stringent performance
standards of the American Petroleum Institute (API) and is SJ/CF rated; this
means it is approved for all gasoline (SJ) and light-duty diesel engines (CF).
In addition, it is classified as an "Energy Conserving" engine lubricant.
