SAE Releases `Occupant Protection Technology Collection on CD-ROM'WARRENDALE, Pa., Feb. 2 -- The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International) announces the release of the "SAE Occupant Protection Technology Collection on CD-ROM." The collection includes over 650 full-text SAE technical papers that focus on the protection systems inside the passenger compartment and their interaction with the occupant. Documents in this collection provide strategic design, analysis, and crash research information for automotive safety applications. The CD-ROM is particularly applicable for engineers, consultants, educators, lawyers, or other professionals who rely on desktop access to technical information to improve performance, minimize passenger injuries, and control costs. Professionals can also use this collection to stay current with the latest engineering efforts to meet the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Topics include interior components, injury patterns, crash research, airbags, restraint systems, sensors, kinematics, dummy response, materials, occupant detection, test methodologies, foam and seating, rollover protection, seatbelts, smart technologies, and more. These key documents have been presented at SAE engineering events from 1975 through 1999, and a complete database with bibliographic details and abstracts is also included. The Folio(R) search engine for Windows(R) 95, 98 and NT provides simple and advanced search options in addition to easy-to-use fill-in-the blank forms that return ranked hit list results. This comprehensive tool gives users access to critical data by keywords, author name, document number, meeting name, or other criteria. Additionally, technical papers are in PDF format offering crisp text and graphics and expedited print capabilities. SAE also offers automotive safety professionals the Accident Reconstruction Technology Collection on CD-ROM, a collection of over 830 key technical papers published since 1959; the Stapp Car Crash Conference Proceedings on CD-ROM, a compilation of over 820 documents presented at Stapp meetings since 1966; and the Highway Vehicles Safety Database-a bibliographic reference covering more than 38,000 documents from publishers around the world. The price of the Occupant Protection Technology Collection on CD-ROM is $299 for a single workstation license. A free demonstration disc is also available.
