Napier International Technologies Inc. Announces ICI Hydrostrip Update
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Feb. 2, 2000-- NapIntTechInc(TSE:NIR.) Napier International Technologies Inc. (NIR.TSE) (www.napierintl.com), and ICI are currently completing the next phase of the North American education and training campaign for the SV-35 stripper series being sold under the Devoe Coatings Hydrostrip label. The product line will now be available through 870 retail ICI stores (Glidden, Color Your World and Dulux). The products will also be specified and sold as an integral component by the ICI Devoe industrial sales representatives.Napier's technical team is currently in Scottsdale, Arizona as part of a 13-day seminar to demonstrate the products and educate the approximately 1500 ICI sales representatives and store managers who operate the 450 stores ICI currently has in the U.S. Initial response to the products has been overwhelming.
During the week of January 10th, Napier representatives were at the ICI head office in Cleveland, Ohio training and demonstrating product to regional sales managers and large territory sales representatives. This highly successful group targets industrial applications involving the government, heavy industry, etc. where a single project can require thousands of gallons of product.
Various projects successfully completed by ICI Canada have produced a series of case studies demonstrating Hydrostrip's ability to complete jobs that were previously impossible to do. With this new tool, ICI sales representatives can propose maintenance programs that previously required factory shutdowns. For the first time, projects can be accomplished with a chemical stripper that is non-hazardous to employees, even in an enclosed environment. Examples from last year's tests are: an oil refinery at which a valve header assembly, operating under high pressure, was stripped while in full production. Two breweries producing food grade products were stripped without being shut down, also another first Neither of these maintenance programs could have been accomplished with traditional technologies.
Coatings salespeople accustomed to an industry that averages 2% to 3% average growth per year are extremely excited about being armed with a new technology that offers them a massive untapped market to sell into. Napier expects a huge increase in sales volume with the Spring season approaching, having now properly introduced the Hydrostrip series to approximately 2,000 ICI sales representatives with a presence in 870 retail stores throughout Canada and the United States.
