Daewoo Achieves Best Ever Sales
    COMPTON, Calif., Feb. 1 -- Daewoo Motor America started the
year 2000 off on a high note by recording its best sales month in its
16 months of operation.  January 2000 sales hit the 5,015 mark, an increase of
675% compared with the same period one year ago.  Sales were 30% greater than
Daewoo Motor America's previously recorded best month of 3,848 vehicles.
    For the 26-day sales period, Leganza led all models with 2,197 units sold,
followed by Nubira at 1,473 and Lanos at 1,345.

    All Daewoo models are sold through a network of 301 retail locations in
45 states.  This is a huge expansion from the 15 outlets in 9 states in
operation just one year ago.
