Burnham Reports Record Sales and Declares Dividend
    LANCASTER, Pa., Feb. 1 -- Burnham Corporation
(OTC Bulletin Board: BURCA), a leading manufacturer of boilers, furnaces,
radiators and related accessories for residential, commercial and industrial
applications, today reported record sales for the year and quarter ended
December 31, 1999.
    The company reported net sales of $215.7 million in 1999 versus
$183.3 million in 1998.  This was an increase of $32.4 million, or 17.7%.
Bryan Steam, acquired in November 1998, provided $26.3 million of this
increase.  Sales of residential products were up over 1998 while industrial
boiler orders remain sluggish consistent with previously announced results.
Fourth quarter net sales were $65.6 in 1999, an increase of $5.0 million or
8.3%, versus the $60.6 million reported in 1998 which was the previous fourth
quarter record.
    Burnham Corporation has not released its earnings report for 1999.  The
company expects to report its 1999 earnings on March 10, 2000.
    At its meeting on January 28, 2000, the Burnham Board of Directors
declared a quarterly dividend of $0.49 per share on both classes of the
company's common stock.  The dividends are payable March 1, 2000, to
stockholders of record on February 15, 2000.
    The newly declared dividend represents an increase of $0.16 per share, or
8.9%, in the annual dividend rate.  2000 will mark the 19th consecutive year
that Burnham has increased its annual dividend payment.
