National-Standard Introduces Satin-Glide(R) 2000
NILES, Mich., Jan. 31 -- A new line of stainless steel
welding wire has recently been introduced by National-Standard (Amex: NSD).
Called N-S Satin-Glide(R) 2000, the line features a wire surface uniquely free
of residual drawing soaps and coatings, thanks to a state-of-the-art cleaning
process installed by the company several months ago. Excellent feedability, a
mainstay of the company's Satin-Glide(R) line which the new product replaces,
is even more consistent with this new process.
The new N-S Satin-Glide(R) 2000 products include the full line of
stainless steel welding wire previously marketed under the Satin-Glide(R)
label.
"Satin-Glide(R) 2000 is the direct result of National-Standard's Advanced
Quality Planning (AQP) process and should provide customers with the finest
performing products on the market," stated Larry Thomas, Welding Products
Group General Manager.
In addition to Satin-Glide(R) 2000 stainless steel welding wire, National-
Standard offers a full line of mild and low alloy steel solid wire, stainless
and mild steel cored wire, and several unique wire packages.
Founded in 1907, National-Standard is a Niles, Michigan-based firm with
annual sales of approximately $180 million. In ten operating facilities in
the United States and England, the Company manufactures and distributes a
broad range of wire and wire-related products, including tire bead wire and
welding wire, in addition to wire cloth, fabricated filters and inflator
housings for the automotive air bag industry.
