National-Standard Introduces Satin-Glide(R) 2000NILES, Mich., Jan. 31 -- A new line of stainless steel welding wire has recently been introduced by National-Standard (Amex: NSD). Called N-S Satin-Glide(R) 2000, the line features a wire surface uniquely free of residual drawing soaps and coatings, thanks to a state-of-the-art cleaning process installed by the company several months ago. Excellent feedability, a mainstay of the company's Satin-Glide(R) line which the new product replaces, is even more consistent with this new process. The new N-S Satin-Glide(R) 2000 products include the full line of stainless steel welding wire previously marketed under the Satin-Glide(R) label. "Satin-Glide(R) 2000 is the direct result of National-Standard's Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) process and should provide customers with the finest performing products on the market," stated Larry Thomas, Welding Products Group General Manager. In addition to Satin-Glide(R) 2000 stainless steel welding wire, National- Standard offers a full line of mild and low alloy steel solid wire, stainless and mild steel cored wire, and several unique wire packages. Founded in 1907, National-Standard is a Niles, Michigan-based firm with annual sales of approximately $180 million. In ten operating facilities in the United States and England, the Company manufactures and distributes a broad range of wire and wire-related products, including tire bead wire and welding wire, in addition to wire cloth, fabricated filters and inflator housings for the automotive air bag industry.
