Dennis D. Huffman Named Fellow of ASM Int'l

    CANTON, Ohio --- Dennis D. Huffman, manager - advanced systems integration 
at The Timken Company's Research Division, has been recently named a Fellow 
of ASM International, the Materials Information Society. Huffman was one of 40 
people to be inducted into ASM's Class of Fellows in 1999.

    ASM's honor of Fellow recognizes its members for distinguished
contributions in the field of materials science and engineering. Huffman was
cited "for numerous technical contributions in the development and production
of premium quality alloy steels for rolling element bearings."

    The Timken Company is a leading international manufacturer of highly 
engineered bearings and alloy steels with operations in 25 countries. The 
company employs about 21,000 people worldwide and reported 1999 sales of U.S. 
$2.5 billion.
