Discount Auto Parts Co-Founder, Marie Fontaine Dies At 87

LAKELAND, Fla.--Discount Auto Parts Inc. announced on Friday that Marie Fontaine died last night at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida. She was 87. Mrs. Fontaine, along with husband Herman Fontaine founded Discount Auto Parts in 1971. She is preceded in death by their son Denis Fontaine, former President and Chief Executive Officer of Discount Auto Parts. She is survived by her husband, Herman and their four children, Richard Fontaine, Carol Letourneau, Michael Fontaine, and Peter Fontaine. Peter is the current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Discount Auto Parts. The Company said Mrs. Fontaine died from complications of pneumonia.

"She set the standard for our values and instilled in our company the importance of `family'. She touched the lives of everyone she met. Her generosity of spirit and kind nature will continue to be an inspiration and her legacy will continue to influence us all."
