DENSO Announces Organizational ChangesDETROIT, Jan. 28 -- DENSO International America (DIAM) in Southfield, Mich., today announced three key organizational changes in its Customer Support Division. Doug Patton of Farmington Hills, Mich., was promoted to vice president, Business Development, with overall responsibility for Distribution, Sales Planning, Ford Business, Heavy Duty/Off Highway Business and Service Center. Patton, formerly director, DaimlerChrysler Sales Group, has 14 years experience with DENSO. His degrees include an M.B.A. and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, both from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. Terry Helgesen of Farmington Hills, Mich., was named director, DaimlerChrysler Business, Customer Support Division. He recently completed a two-year assignment at DENSO's headquarters in Japan as assistant general manager in international sales. Helgesen, who was director of Business Development, Sales Planning and Material Management, before his overseas assignment, began his DENSO career in 1985. He holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University in Normal, Ill. Thomas Esser of Shelby Township, Mich., was promoted to senior manager, Customer Support Division, with responsibility for Ford Business. Prior to this assignment, Esser served as manager, DaimlerChrysler Business and before that was manager, Ford Business. Esser, a graduate of Michigan State University with a B.S. degree in Package Engineering, joined DENSO in 1990. DENSO, a leading global supplier of advanced technology, systems and components, employs more than 72,000 in 25 countries. Global sales for fiscal year 1999 totaled $14.5 billion. In North America, DENSO employs more than 11,000 and its 1999 consolidated sales are estimated at $3.6 billion.
