DaimlerChrysler Dealer Saves Thousands Through AutOrigination

    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.--Jan. 27, 2000--

Automatic Contract Submission Cuts Residual Errors

The ability to automatically transmit contracts to DaimlerChrysler Financial (DCF) prior to signing will save Jim Riehl's Roseville Chrysler Plymouth Jeep, Roseville, Michigan, an estimated $21,000 in residual errors in the coming year, according to Philip Mooney, Business Manager. "If we miss the residual by 2% on a $35,000 car, we could be out $700," Mooney said. "We deliver 3000 new cars per year so it's not hard to imagine that we might be wrong on 1% of them."
AutOrigination(R) provides a fast and convenient way to submit contracts to DCF's contract entry system (CES) to ensure they are complete and accurate. The system captures information from the ADP dealer management system and automatically transfers it to the appropriate contract verification fields. It checks the contract for required fields that are incomplete before transmitting it to the CES. Within a few minutes, CES generates a report on the contract that calls out any errors so they can be corrected before signing. The system also makes it possible to send a vehicle identification number (VIN) to CES to receive up-to-the-minute information about current retail and lease programs.
"Roseville CPJ has a reputation as a forerunner in technologies - we were the first ISO 9002 certified dealer in the United States - so we are well experienced in initiating new programs," Mooney added. "This was among the best we have ever seen. Within 45 minutes of starting the implementation process we were up and running. Within an hour, we caught our first MSRP error. We corrected it before the customer left and saved ourselves the irritating hassle of dealing with a bounced contract. I am convinced that the extra 90 seconds or so that it takes to verify a contract will save countless hours of aggravation and potentially thousands of errors."
