Northern Light(R) Announces Five-Year Sponsorship of the Indy Racing League
                         Championship Points Fund --

ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 27 -- The Indy Racing League and Northern Light
Technology, Inc., an Internet search engine, today announced a long-term
marketing and media partnership between a major motor sports series and an
Internet company. Highlighting the five-year, multi-faceted agreement is
establishment of the Northern Light Cup and a $1 million-dollar purse to the
winner of the Indy Racing League championship to commence with the 2000 season.

In addition to the Northern Light Cup, Northern Light will also underwrite
$500,000 in driver awards in the Northern Light Circle of Champions to be
disbursed at Indy Racing League events, beginning with the January 29 season
opener at Walt Disney World Speedway in Orlando. Northern Light will also be
the named title sponsor of Northern Light Bubble Day, the final qualifying day
at the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race, and will support a $25,000 qualifying award
on Bubble Day. Since the Indy 500 always has many more aspiring entrants than
there are starting positions available, on Bubble Day the drivers "on the
bubble" of the qualifying field have to decide whether to abandon their
earlier qualifying times and try for a better one, or risk being bounced from
the field by another driver in line to go out. It is a day of strategy and
intense drama, success and heartbreak, with three television networks covering
the entire 6-hour event live.

As title sponsor of the Northern Light Cup and the individual race event
Circle of Champions Prize Fund, Northern Light will be an advertiser in Indy
Racing League television and radio broadcasts, and will support and promote
the League in a variety of traditional media, as well as Internet ventures.
