Worldwide Diagnostic System Lauded At National Automobile Dealer Association Convention

    WESTFORD, Mass.--Jan. 26, 2000--GenRad, Inc. today announced that its WDS service tool, unveiled at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in San Francisco last year, designed to cover all Ford Motor Company brands from 1996 through 2000 and 2001 going forward, has been well received by Ford dealers.
    In a press release issued by Ford Motor Company in conjunction with the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in Orlando last weekend, WDS was called "a powerful, sophisticated, next-generation diagnostic tool that can meet the complex diagnostic demands of the 21st century" by Mike Jordan, President of Ford's Automotive Consumer Services Group.
    Sam Cole, diagnostic service planning manager for the Ford Customer Service Division, called WDS "one tool that has the capacity and capability to support increasingly complex electronics in our global vehicles."
    Frank Ligon, technical support operations manager, also at Ford Customer Service Division, noted the "fast and accurate diagnostics available with the WDS system."
