David Cole Named Keynote Speaker at MSC.Software's Worldwide Auto Conference

    LOS ANGELES/COSTA MESA, Calif.--Jan. 26, 2000-- MSC.Software (MSC), the world's leading developer of simulation software, today announced that Dr. David Cole will be the featured keynote speaker at the second annual MSC.Software Worldwide Automotive User Conference. Dr. Cole is the Director of the Office for the Study of Automotive Transportation, University of Michigan's Transportation Research Institute and has worked extensively on internal combustion engines, vehicle design and overall automotive industry trends. The three-day conference, scheduled for October 9-11, 2000, in Dearborn, Michigan, has a theme of "The Future of Simulation in the Automotive Environment" and will feature expert-led sessions discussing the hottest technical solutions for the automotive industry in the new millennium.     Dr. Cole's recent research has focused on strategic issues relating to the competitiveness of the North American industry in the international environment. He was formerly a member of the Energy Engineering Board of the National Research Council and the U.S.-Canada Free Trade Pact Select Panel. Dr. Cole's technical and policy consulting experience includes a variety of assignments for industry, labor, and government.
    Dr. Cole is a Director of the Automotive Hall of Fame and is on the Board of Trustees of Hope College. He is active in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), including serving two terms on the board of directors. In 1994 Design News selected Dr. Cole as one of eight Engineering Leaders, and he was selected to receive Sweden's Order of the Polar Star.
