Metasys(R) M5 Workstation From Johnson Controls Wins Readers' Choice Product AwardMILWAUKEE, Jan. 25 -- The Metasys(R) M5 workstation from Johnson Controls, Inc. won the Bronze Award in Plant Engineering magazine's 1999 Product of the Year Award competition. The annual awards competition invites readers, which includes facility managers, to cast their vote for the most innovative and useful products introduced to the facility market that year. The Metasys M5 workstation allows users to globally run a complex network of building systems with enterprise information and Web-based technologies. Dynamic displays are embedded with video, voice and animation combined with intuitive M-Graphics and M-Trend software. The M5 supports Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 98, Windows 95 and Windows NT(R) platforms, offering the highest level of supervisory building automation systems available. The Metasys product is a specialized computer-based facility management system that automates and integrates heating, air conditioning, ventilation, fire, security and other building functions to provide increased comfort and energy efficiency. Johnson Controls is a previous Product of the Year Award winner. In the program's second year, 1989, the company received a Gold Award in the Controls category for its Personal Environments product.
