QAD Positioned to Re-Affirm Leadership With New B2B Internet Exchange Applications; AMR Research Adds Voice to Growing Acclaim for QAD E-Business Solutions
CARPINTERIA, Calif.--Jan. 24, 2000--QAD , developer of industry-specific e-business solutions for manufacturers and distributors, announced today another milestone in the groundswell of support for its new e-business solutions including eQ, QAD's innovative business-to-business (B2B) Internet order management and exchange applications suite. The closing sentences of Rod Johnson's piece in the AMR Research Alert on Supply Chain Management and Enterprise Applications, Jan. 18, 2000 stated, "While QAD clearly still has hurdles to clear, its current products and vision around e-business will position it to recapture its middle market leadership."
QAD's new applications strategy is focused on helping companies in its targeted verticals quickly realize benefits from industry-specific e-business solutions. Two major corporations have already completed implementations of beta versions of components of QAD's eQ.
Pamela Lopker, president and chairman of QAD said, "AMR Research's comments underscore the vision we have built into eQ as well as our Internet-enabled enterprise solution and the tremendous value these solutions offer to our customers. Our B2B solutions give manufacturers and distributors the e-business capabilities they need to leverage business relationships and define the rules in their marketplaces."
"QAD understands that e-business requires more than extending base transactions out of your ERP systems. QAD knows it is about creating unique new processes that provide competitive advantage." ..."The object-oriented design of eQ allows the product to be modeled to reflect the complex and very different relationships that exist in business-to-business relationships." -- Rod Johnson, The AMR Research Report on Supply Chain Management and Enterprise Applications, Jan. 18, 2000.
While acknowledging the challenges QAD has overcome in past years, the AMR Research Alert spoke directly to the company's ability to successfully deliver industry-specific e-business solutions for the benefit of its customer base of more than 4,000 licensed sites. "...QAD has always been an innovator, combining deep knowledge of manufacturing with strong technical talent. QAD is taking the same approach to e-business, by starting with its key vertical markets and putting technology in the context of its customers' businesses," stated the opening paragraph of the report.
AMR Research has the largest research team dedicated to the enterprise and supply chain applications markets. Its senior research analysts have an average of 15-20 years of experience in business and IT resulting in a deep understanding of IT's role within specific industries.
