Engineering Advances Maximize Durability Of Federal-Mogul's New Signal-Stat(R) LampsSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Jan. 21 -- Several engineering enhancements, including the exclusive use of heavy-duty Wagner(R) "Fat Cartridge" light bulbs and an advanced bulb cradle system, have brought unsurpassed durability to the new Signal-Stat(R) 4070 Series sealed oval signal and back-up lamps from Federal-Mogul Corporation . Already one of the best-selling product families within the Signal-Stat line, 4070 Series lamps now incorporate the proven technology of "Fat Cartridge" bulbs, which are inherently more resistant to the severe vibration and shock load encountered by most heavy-duty vehicles. Unlike competitors' automotive-type, "wedge-base" bulbs, the heavy-duty "Fat Cartridge" bulb contains a minimum number of internal components and potential failure points. The bulb's welded wire connections reduce voltage drop and increase component durability. New Signal-Stat 4070 Series signal and back-up lamps also feature an advanced, silicone Shock/Mount(R) bulb cradle system that offers significantly better shock/vibration dampening and temperature resistance than conventional, thermoplastic cradle systems. "Signal-Stat has long been recognized for its ability to create innovative, practical solutions to difficult industry challenges, and the new 4070 Series is another milestone for our brand," said John Golden, Signal-Stat product manager for Federal-Mogul. "Our engineers have created a product that delivers proven performance advantages over conventional lamps. The bottom line is greater vehicle productivity and reduced maintenance requirements."
