Intermet Further Strengthens Sales And Marketing Activity in Reorganization
TROY, Mich., Jan. 20 -- Automotive parts supplier Intermet
Corporation has reorganized its sales and marketing group to
take advantage of the expanded material and process capabilities resulting
from the recent acquisitions of Diemakers, Ganton Technologies, and Tool
Products.
"In order to present a common 'face' of the company to our customers, we
are combining four sales and marketing forces into one," said David L.
Neilson, Intermet's vice president of sales and marketing. "Ganton,
Diemakers, and Tool Products serve the same customer base as Intermet."
The new group will be centered in the Detroit area at Intermet's corporate
headquarters in Troy, Michigan.
"Intermet was historically recognized as the largest independent supplier
of ductile-iron components," said Neilson. "With these acquisitions, we now
become one of North America's largest in aluminum and magnesium castings, and
have zinc capability as well. This uniquely positions us to effectively
address our customers' cast-metal component requirements."
As part of the reorganization, Intermet announced that David Pagels has
been named director of sales, responsible for Ford Motor Company and Visteon
accounts. Previously, Pagels was vice president of sales and marketing for
Ganton Technologies and joins Tim Bowes, senior director of sales, responsible
for General Motors, Delphi and New American Manufacturers; and Frank
Drumheller, director of sales for DaimlerChrysler accounts. Harding Fears,
Jr., continues as director of marketing for Intermet.
"We are very pleased to present this new group to our customers," said
Neilson. "As a result of this, we have a stronger and more customer-focused
organization. It will contribute significantly to our strategy of being the
leading, full-service supplier of cast-metal components, primarily serving the
automotive industry."
With headquarters in Troy, Michigan, Intermet Corporation is a full-
service supplier of powertrain, chassis/suspension and structural components
to the worldwide automotive industry. Intermet also manufactures cranes and
specialty service vehicles. The company has more than 9,000 employees at
facilities located in North America and Europe. More information about the
company is available on the Internet at http://www.intermet.com
