Budget Rent A Car's New Hoop Deal in Full Motion
Latest Budget TV Spot, Featuring Fastbreak Service, Now Airing

Budget Sponsoring NBA Jam Van on City Tours

LISLE, Ill., Jan. 20 -- Budget Rent a Car, the world's third
largest car and truck rental system, recently signed a multi-million dollar
marketing deal with Turner Broadcasting to sponsor the NBA telecasts on Turner
Networks TNT and TBS Superstation. The deal includes advertising and
billboards, which focus on Budget's Fastbreak service, the company's fastest
way to rent a car, as well as an in-game feature - Budget's "Fastbreak of the
game."
The latest wave of Budget's advertising, which airs during the NBA
telecasts and on nearly 30 national cable TV stations, includes a humorous TV
spot featuring Fastbreak. This new spot is part of a multi-media advertising
campaign created by New York-based Cliff Freeman & Partners, who was named the
1999 Agency of the Year by Creativity Magazine. Comprised of TV, radio and
newspaper, the campaign is geared primarily toward professionals with a small
business attitude and the "young at heart."
As part of its deal with Turner, Budget is sponsoring the NBA Jam Van, a
67-foot, 18-wheel truck that unfolds to reveal 5,000 square feet of
interactive basketball activities for fans of all ages. In each city on the
Jam Van tour, Budget is giving away prizes and hosting a mock Budget Fastbreak
studio where visitors can try their hand at being a TBS "guest commentator"
and call their own "Budget Fastbreak" from a previously taped TBS NBA Monday
night game. Upcoming NBA Jam Van stops include Salt Lake City, Orlando, San
Francisco, Detroit, Miami, Portland, Chicago, Seattle, New York and
Philadelphia.
In addition, Budget is presenting TBS Million Dollar Monday, which allows
local fans to register at the NBA Jam Van to compete for a chance to win
$1,000,000. Two contestants, selected from each participating city, have
exactly one minute to shoot baskets from designated floor marks on the court
during halftime. Each basket made earns them $500. The person with the most
baskets after one minute earns a chance to make a shot from the opposite free
throw line to win $1,000,000.
Budget Rent a Car Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Budget Group,
Inc. , is one of the world's top three car and truck rental systems.
The Budget system, which operates under the same name worldwide, has more than
3,000 airport and local market locations in over 120 countries and
territories. Budget has more than 1,000 corporate-owned and franchised
