Through the Oldsmobile Super Football Giveaway, consumers can score the commemorative souvenir, and the sports legend's themselves each receive a $50,000 Oldsmobile donation to be distributed to their charities of choice. "We wanted a fun promotion that allowed our consumers to feel a part of the excitement revolving around the Super Bowl(R)," commented Karen Francis, general manager, Oldsmobile. "But it was also a good opportunity to funnel monies back to charities which champion causes near and dear to these sports figure's hearts." Oldsmobile's contribution will be made to each of the sportsmen's foundations, which benefit a variety of charities across the nation. The Jerry Rice 127 Foundation gives to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Omega Boys Club and the March of Dimes. The Boomer Esiason Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about Cystic Fibrosis and raising money to find a cure. Dan Marino has selected the Dan Marino Foundation, which founded the Childnett Wing of Miami's Children's Memorial Hospital for children with neurological disorders. The foundation also supports a variety of children's charities in South Florida. From now until February 14, consumers can log onto http://www.oldsmobile.com , and download the test drive certificate. By simply presenting the certificate to their dealer at the time of the test drive, consumers can send in the certificate for one of the autographed footballs -- while supplies last. Rice, Marino and Esiason each signed 2,500 balls. "Response to this promotion has been great," added Francis. "We expected a good turnout for it, due to our consumers' love of the game, but we've been pleasantly surprised with the turnout. Since January 9, nearly 9,000 fans have logged onto http://www.oldsmobile.com to take advantage of the promotion -- and nearly 3,000 of them have gone to the local Oldsmobile dealership to test drive our products."
