ProLogis Facilitates Expansion of Mackie Automotive Systems With Build-To-Suit Distribution Facility in Arlington, Texas    
          - New Facility Enables Mackie to Increase Distribution Of
                     Automotive Parts to General Motors -

    ARLINGTON, Texas, Jan. 19 -- ProLogis , a leading
global provider of distribution services and facilities, today announced plans
to develop a 492,500 square-foot, build-to-suit distribution facility for
Mackie Automotive Systems in the Great Southwest Submarket of Arlington,
Texas.  Mackie Automotive, a long-time ProLogis customer occupying four
ProLogis facilities in two markets, will lease the entire facility and
anticipates occupying the building in July 2000.   The facility will be used
to assemble and distribute automotive parts to the General Motors Sports
Utility Vehicle (SUV) plant in Arlington.

    Mackie Automotive Systems selected ProLogis to expand and consolidate its
assembly and distribution efforts from two existing ProLogis-owned facilities
in the Great Southwest Submarket, adding more than 200,000 square feet of
industrial space.  Mackie Automotive expects to employ more than 400 people at
the new facility.
    "This facility will allow Mackie Automotive to consolidate and grow its
distribution capabilities to meet the increased demand from the General Motors
Arlington plant," said Bob Elledge, plant manager for Mackie Automotive
Systems.  "ProLogis provides us with the flexibility to quickly respond to our
customers' changing distribution needs both now and in the future."
