Advanced Energy Standardizes on SDRC's I-DEAS Software; Advanced Energy Industries Engages With SDRC in a Partnership for Competitive Excellence

CINCINNATI--Jan. 17, 2000--SDRC , a leading global supplier of Internet-enabled collaborative product development solutions, today announced that Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. has engaged in a partnership for competitive excellence with SDRC. As part of this agreement, Advanced Energy is standardizing on SDRC's award-winning I-DEAS(R) software. The initial order for software and services is valued at over $500K, with additional anticipated orders in excess of $1 million expected over the next two years.
"We needed more than technology," said Dr. Hollis Caswell, president and COO, Advanced Energy. "We have significant growth goals, and we looked for a strategic partner who could provide technology tools as well as critical process support expertise. SDRC was willing to listen to our needs and to propose a total solution. We are confident that SDRC is the right partner to enable us to achieve competitive excellence in our industry."
Advanced Energy, with headquarters in Fort Collins, Colorado, is a leading inventor, designer, manufacturer, and supplier of power conversion and control system solutions and related products. After an extensive evaluation, SDRC's I-DEAS was selected as the core development tool replacing Advanced Energy's existing CAD tools. I-DEAS will be deployed initially in Fort Collins, Colorado and in Voorhees, New Jersey, in a fully collaborative product development environment for the design and manufacture of critical power supplies and power delivery systems.
"Advanced Energy is a recognized innovator in their industry, and we are pleased to partner with them," said Bill Weyand, chairman, president, and CEO, SDRC. "We intend to continue expanding the value proposition that we offer major manufacturers worldwide by providing complete enterprise product development solutions. Through our competitive excellence partnership model, we look forward to working closely with Advanced Energy in helping them to achieve their business goals."
