GE Capital Fleet Services Initiates 20-State Online Licensing and Renewal Pilot Program
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 14 -- GE Capital Fleet Services has
launched a pilot program designed to provide commercial fleets with online
titling, licensing and registration renewal services. The program is currently
being tested at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMVs) throughout 20 states.
"The Internet is paving the way for the future, and more and more
government agencies are making the link to online service offerings," said Joe
Raasch, manager of licensing services for GE Capital Fleet Services. "By
processing licensing and renewals electronically through our RapidTag(TM)
program, we greatly improve speed and accuracy. That boosts our customers'
productivity, and DMVs save significant time by eliminating the need to
process huge volumes of transactions manually."
According to Raasch, a typical licensing or renewal transaction, including
paperwork and processing can take up to three weeks. With GE Capital Fleet
Services online RapidTag(TM) application, processing and delivery can be
completed in as little as one day.
"Working with DMVs to house information online is a great time saver for
customers, especially for those calling on specific requests," Raasch added.
"Information usually gathered manually with DMVs can now be accessed in
seconds with the click of a mouse. We can also better handle time-sensitive
cases on behalf of our customers. It's a win-win for all parties involved.
"It's exciting to see the pilot program evolve. DMV's are clearly seeing
the benefits of online transactions and more and more states are coming on
board to access our service electronically."
