    FLINT, Mich., Jan. 13 -- Two key executive appointments were
announced today at Delphi Energy & Chassis Division, according to Guy C.
Hachey, vice president of Delphi Automotive Systems and president of the
division.
    Robert J. Remenar is named executive director of Delphi Energy & Chassis
Business Line Operations, reporting to Hachey.  Remenar, who was previously
director of worldwide finance for Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems, will lead
the business line organization, which is responsible for all global product
lines of the Energy & Chassis Division.  Remenar and the business line
executives continue as members of the executive staff and are responsible for:
    *  Product success, including product line profitability, program
management and product development
    *  Product value stream management, from raw materials to finished goods
    *  Leadership of product teams
    *  Business/product strategy and integration across functions

    Joseph P. Gumina is named director of worldwide finance for Delphi Energy
& Chassis Systems, succeeding Remenar.  Gumina, who had been finance director
for Delphi Chassis Systems prior to the integration of Delphi Chassis Systems
and Delphi Energy & Engine Management Systems, will also report to Hachey.
    Remenar was named director of finance for Delphi Energy in November 1998.
Prior to that assignment, he was director of human resources for Delphi
Chassis.  In 1985, Remenar joined GM's Chevrolet-Pontiac-GM of Canada Group
headquarters in Warren, Mich.  During his career he has held various positions
at Saturn Corp. and with the GM and NAO finance and personnel staffs.
Additionally, he was director of corporate financial analysis; health care
cost analysis; employment cost analysis; and compensation, policy and employee
relations.  He has served on the GM National Bargaining Committee and the
board of directors of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan.
    Gumina began working for General Motors' Rochester Products Division in
1977.  He moved to GM's financial staff in 1985 and served in several
positions, including director of GM North America's operations analysis group.
In 1992 he was named assistant divisional controller for GM's Delco Remy
Division, and in 1994 he was appointed assistant finance director for GM's
Packard Electric Division.  In 1995 he was named assistant group finance
director for Delphi Automotive Systems, which included an interim
international assignment in Wuppertal, Germany.  He was named director of
budget and business planning for GM's North American Car Group in 1998 and
elected to return to Delphi later that year as Delphi Chassis' finance
director.
    "Bob instituted a strong financial process at Delphi Energy.  He has a
clear understanding of the business, with his background in various
functions," Hachey said.  "Bob brings passion and creativity and also knows
how to build a strong team, which is what we are looking for with our new
organizational structure."

    Both appointments are effective immediately.

    Robert J. Remenar was named executive director of Business Line Operations
for Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems in January 2000.  Prior to this
appointment, Remenar was director of worldwide finance for the division
    Remenar began his professional career with American Natural Resources
Corporation in 1978.  He joined General Motors Corporation in 1985 as an
associate administrator with Chevrolet-Pontiac-GM of Canada headquarters in
Warren, Mich.  In 1986, he transferred to Saturn Corporation's Troy
headquarters as a senior administrator, and in 1989, transferred to Saturn's
Spring Hill, Tenn., facility as an administrator for finance.
    He returned to Detroit, Mich., in 1991 as a senior administrator for the
General Motors Headquarters financial staff and was named director of
corporate financial analysis on the GM comptroller's staff in 1993.
    He was named director of health care cost analysis in 1994 and was named
director of employment cost analysis shortly thereafter, serving in several
capabilities including senior financial executive on the 1996 National
Bargaining Committee and as a member of the board of directors of Blue
Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan from 1996 through 1998.  Remenar was named
director of compensation, policy development and employee relations for GM
North American Operations personnel in Warren, Mich., in November 1996 until
becoming director of human resources for Delphi Chassis Systems in Dayton,
Ohio, in March 1998.  In November 1998 he was named director of finance for
Delphi Energy until assuming his current position in April 1999.
    Remenar earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Central
Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and a master's degree in business
administration from Walsh College, Troy, Mich., in 1987.

    Joseph P. Gumina was named director of Finance for Delphi Energy and
Chassis Systems in January 2000.  Prior to this assignment, he was director of
finance for Delphi Chassis Systems in Dayton, Ohio.
    Gumina joined General Motors in 1977 as a college graduate in training at
Rochester Products Division in Rochester, New York, and, following several
assignments, was promoted to administrator in 1984.  He transferred to the
General Motors Financial Staff in 1985 and was promoted to director of
operations analysis in 1990.
    In 1992, Gumina was named assistant divisional controller at Delco Remy in
Anderson, Indiana, and transferred to Packard Electric Division in Warren,
Ohio, as assistant divisional controller in 1994.  In 1995, he was named
assistant group finance director for Delphi Automotive Systems, which included
an interim international assignment in Wuppertal, Germany.  He was named
director of budget and business planning for GM's North American Car Group in
1998 and returned to Delphi as finance director for the Chassis division later
that year.
    Gumina earned a bachelor's degree in finance from St. John Fisher College
in 1977 and a master's degree in business administration from Rochester
Institute of Technology in 1984.
