International Electronics Awarded $350,000 Order for Serial Communications Controller by Travel Centers of America

    CANTON, Mass.--Jan. 13, 2000--International Electronics, Inc. announced today that it has received a $350,000 order from Travel Centers of America (TCA) for its serial communications controller system.
    The serial communications controller will be used by TCA, the nation's largest truck stop operator, as a key part of a new computerized reservation system for access to shower facilities at its truck stops. The communications controller consists of an integrated magnetic stripe card reader and 12-key keypad with a visual display that serves as the shower user's interface. This order is expected to begin shipment in the third fiscal quarter and be completed in the current fiscal year, ending August 31, 2000.
