FleetPride Announces E-Commerce Business Unit
DEERFIELD, Ill., Jan. 12 -- FleetPride, the nation's largest
independent distributor of heavy-duty truck parts, today announced the
formation of an e-commerce business initiative. David Seewack, former Vice
President and General Manager of the FleetPride Western Region, has been named
as President and CEO of the new venture effective February 1, 2000.
FleetPride, which was formed in September 1999 through the merger of QDSP
Holdings, Inc. and HDA Parts System, Inc., currently operates more than 170
locations with revenues in excess of $550 million. In addition to the new
e-commerce initiative, FleetPride's core services include parts distribution,
remanufacuturing, truck repair, and vehicle maintenance services. Through its
e-commerce initiative, FleetPride will explore and develop new business
opportunities as well as new methods to service its current customer base.
John Greisch, President and CEO of FleetPride said of the new business
venture, "We recognize the opportunity for e-commerce to improve our current
menu of services and to expand that offering in the market place. As the
leader in the independent heavy-duty aftermarket we realize that we must keep
pace with our customers' needs. We know that David Seewack, with his
experience and vision, will make this venture a profitable one for FleetPride
and our customers."
David Seewack has more than 20 years experience in the heavy-duty
aftermarket and was the former CEO of Associated Truck Parts before it was
acquired by FleetPride in January 1999.
"I am looking forward to the new opportunities that our e-commerce
business initiative has to offer. FleetPride recognizes that e-commerce will
play an important role for both the distributor and the manufacturer and we
want to be proactive in putting our systems in place," said Seewack.
