Selas Finalizes Acquisition of Ermat, SA, French Furnace MakerDRESHER, Pa., Jan. 12 -- Selas Corporation of America (Amex: SLS) announced today that it has completed the acquisition of French furnace manufacturer, Ermat, SA. Selas purchased 100% of Ermat, which is located near Lyon, France, for 11.5 million French Francs, $1.8 million U.S. Ermat produces furnaces for heat treating both ferrous and non-ferrous metals and will report through Selas' French subsidiary, Selas SA, according to the company. "We are very pleased to have Ermat as part of the Selas family because it will increase our market share for smaller furnaces that have the potential to sell in greater volume," Stephen F. Ryan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Selas, said. "We are confident that Ermat will mirror the success of CFR, which we acquired in 1998 and which markets engineered batch and continuous furnaces also for heat treating both ferrous and non-ferrous metals."
