Made2Manage Launches Virtual Learning

INDIANAPOLIS--Jan. 11, 2000--Made2Manage Systems, Inc. now offers a Virtual Classroom for on-line learning that allows customers to attend classes by simply logging onto the Internet.
"We are the first in our market place to offer synchronous education through the Internet," said Katie Jones, Director of Performance Support Services for Made2Manage Systems. "Small and midsize manufacturers are demanding education both during implementation and as they continue to expand the use of their system. However, they want low cost and convenience. Since virtual class members will participate in shorter, intensive class sessions directly from their own workstations, companies that take advantage of virtual learning will see travel costs and time away from the job drastically reduced. With the Internet, many more of our customers will have access to education."
The interactive classroom environment provides real-time classes by simultaneously connecting the instructor's PC to the student's. The learning process incorporates audio interaction, white board, text chat, and question and answer capability. In addition, the Virtual Classroom offers hands-on instruction by demonstrating software functions and sharing applications with students.
The implementation of Virtual Classroom is directly related to Made2Manage's commitment to e-business and its continuous commitment to customer service. The Made2Manage Virtual Classroom premiered in Beta version in December 1999 and the general release is scheduled for January 2000.
The classes offered in the first quarter of 2000 are Shipping, Receiving, Sales, Quotes, Inventory Management Setup, Cycle Counting and Physical Inventory. Two short seminars are also scheduled -- Month-End/Year-End Closing and Financial Filters. Additional classes are planned to be rolled out throughout the remainder of the year.
Many Made2Manage customers, fully supporting Virtual Classroom, cite the ability to attend class from their own workstation a great advantage.
"I was very impressed with the Virtual Classroom, and how smoothly the class was handled," said Virtual Classroom student Ryan King of Elf Machinery. "I am glad I had the opportunity to participate in something that I fully support. I would like to see the Virtual Classroom be an option for the Made2Manage classes. The privacy and convenience of your home or office beats traveling to another location."
Made2Manage partnered with New York-based LearnLinc Corporation to provide real-time, on-line training to its customers.
