Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation Names James Guarino Director of SafetyPARK RIDGE, N.J., Jan. 11 -- The Hertz Corporation , the world's largest car rental company and a leading construction and industrial equipment rental business in the US, announces the appointment of James Guarino to Director, Safety for Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation (HERC). Guarino is responsible for all aspects of HERC's North American equipment and personnel safety programs and will report to Hertz Division Vice President, Fleet Operations, Daniel A. Malanka. Guarino's office is located at Hertz' Worldwide Headquarters in Park Ridge, NJ. "We're pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Guarino to Director, Safety for HERC," commented HERC President, Gerry Plescia. "Jim has been instrumental in implementing a variety of HERC's safety programs and, we're confident that, going forward, he will continue to keep HERC in the forefront of offering the highest quality safety programs available." Guarino, who joined the company in 1996, previously served as Safety Manager for HERC. A safety professional for more than 10 years, Guarino has a background in the construction, hazardous waste, petrochemical and chemical industries. Guarino holds a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Rutgers' Cook College in New Brunswick, NJ. HERC, a subsidiary of Hertz, operates from more than 250 locations in North America and more than 60 locations in Europe.
