Meritor Automotive is Y2K Ready
    TROY, Mich., Jan. 10 -- After three years of planning,
preparation and testing, Meritor Automotive, Inc. successfully
completed its final Year 2000 readiness test cycle and its operations are
running smoothly without any reported Y2K issues to hinder customer
deliveries.
    Meritor's Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Susan P.
Kampe, credits the thorough and unrelenting work of the company's Information
Technology and Manufacturing organizations.  "Our team's expertise and focus
allowed Meritor to systematically assess and address the business and
engineering computer systems, IT infrastructure, factory floor and facility
systems, as well as systems that impact our supply chain without ever taking
its eyes off our customers and their needs worldwide," said Kampe.
    Meritor Automotive is a member of the Automotive Industry Action Group,
and has posted its assessment status on the Group's website, http://www.aiagy2k.org .
    Meritor, with 1999 sales of $4.5 billion, is a global supplier of a broad
range of systems and components for commercial, specialty and light vehicle
OEMs and the aftermarket.  Meritor consists of two businesses: Heavy Vehicle
