Vuent Hires Former Hewlett Packard Executive and Expands Sales and Marketing Organization; Richard Ludlow Appointed Vice President Sales, Americas

    SUNNYVALE, Calif.--Jan. 6, 2000--Vuent(TM), Inc., the leading provider of visual collaborative-commerce software and services, today announced the appointment of Richard Ludlow as vice president sales, Americas. The company also announced the creation of a new worldwide sales and marketing organization to augment the delivery of Vuent's superior software and services to customers. John Grosshans has been appointed executive vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, continuing to report to Michael Pliner, president and CEO, and expanding his current international sales and worldwide marketing role. Reporting to John Grosshans, Mr. Ludlow will be responsible for driving North and South American sales operations, including direct sales, telesales, and channel development, expanding the organization previously held by Michael Mooney. These newly created positions reflect the company's momentum in the market and its ongoing commitment to delivering comprehensive e-business solutions.
    Mr. Ludlow brings 18 years global sales management experience to Vuent. He served most recently as vice president, Worldwide Sales, at Supplybase, Inc., an Internet start-up company providing web portals for manufacturing companies. Prior to Supplybase, Ludlow served as vice president, Worldwide Software Sales for the VeriFone division of Hewlett-Packard Company . Other positions include senior vice president of Worldwide Sales for Premenos (now Harbinger), a leading developer of electronic commerce software.
