Daewoo Motor America Demonstrates Terrific Growth in 1999
    COMPTON, Calif., Jan. 6 -- Daewoo Motor America demonstrated
terrific growth with sales of 2,136 units in December 1999, a 257% increase
compared to the same period one year ago.  In December, the newly styled
Nubira lead all models with 805 units sold, followed by Leganza with
670 units, and Lanos with 661 units.
    Daewoo reported total calendar year 1999 sales of 30,787 units.  Leganza
lead with 12,913 units sold (41.9%), followed by Lanos with 9,321 units sold
(30.3%) and Nubira with 8553 units sold (27.8%).

    Daewoo Motor America established itself as a quality manufacturer in 1999,

    Value:  Lanos and Nubira were ranked number one and two for best value by
            the Southern California Automobile Club.
    Style:  Leganza was rated among the top three for style and attractiveness
            in J.D. Power and Associates APEAL Survey.
    Performance:  Nubira won the Pro Rally Championship and Korando won the
            Baja 1000 Off-Road Desert Race in their respective classes.
    Resale: Model Year 1999 vehicles average resale value was reported by
            Black Book Official Used Car Market Guide, and Kelley Blue Book as
            higher than more established lines of vehicles.

    In addition to its strong product line-up, Daewoo's success can be
attributed, to its commitment to customers.  The company offers a no hassle,

    Daewoo will add the sporty Korando SUV to its line-up this year.  The
Korando will make its US debut at the 2000 Los Angeles International Auto Show
and is planned to be for sale in spring 2000.
    Daewoo Motor America currently sells the subcompact Lanos, the compact
Nubira and the mid-size luxury sedan Leganza through an expanding network of
retail outlets nationwide.  Continuing an aggressive expansion program, Daewoo
has added 31 outlets since November.  Presently, there are 290 retail
locations in 43 states.  In January 1999 Daewoo had 15 retail locations in
9 states; in just 12 months the company has grown exponentially, making Daewoo
cars available throughout the nation.
