Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Receives Top Ten Ranking

    FINDLAY, Ohio--Jan. 6, 2000--COOPER TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY today announced it had been ranked as one of the top ten world's most respected engineering companies by the Financial Times, the world's business newspaper. In its annual survey published in December, 1999, the Financial Times listed Cooper Tire & Rubber Company as one of three U.S.-based companies to be named in the top ten along with Ford and Boeing.
    Commenting on the ranking, Cooper's president and COO, Tom Dattilo said, "This is a great honor for Cooper to be recognized among these prestigious companies.
