Chevrolet Voted America's All-Time Favorite Brand On Kelley Blue Book's Web SiteIRVINE, Calif., Jan. 5 -- Americans have chosen Chevrolet as their all-time favorite brand of automobile. The voting took place on the nation's top automotive Web site, Kelley Blue Book, http://www.kbb.com. For a month, Americans were able to cast their vote from a ballot of over 1,200 models of cars and trucks made since 1950. "More than 36 million people depend on Chevrolet daily," said Kurt Ritter, Chevrolet general manager. "We're proud to have been chosen as America's favorite vehicle brand, topping the Kelley Blue Book favorite vehicle list with more vehicles than any other manufacturer." With all those cars to choose from, the most popular model proved to be the Ford Mustang. The Chevrolet Corvette finished second and the Chevrolet Camaro finished third. Overall, Chevrolet was the most popular brand with twenty one percent of the votes. Five Chevrolet vehicles made the top fifteen, #2 Chevy Corvette, #3 Chevy Camaro, #7 Chevy Bel Air, #14 Chevy Impala and #15 Chevy Pickup. Kelley Blue Book's Web site, http://www.kbb.com, highlights these vehicles, their current Blue Book values and memorable stories that Americans shared about their favorites. Americans have had love affairs with their cars ever since Henry Ford cranked out the first Model A in 1903. This is especially true in the last half of this century. We all remember the favorite car we had growing up . . . sitting on Dad's lap in the driveway, pretending to drive . . . the minivan Mom carted us to soccer practice in . . . the first car we learned to drive . . . that cool convertible that first turned heads in high school. Then there was the first car we ever owned, that got washed and waxed every week -- for a while, anyway. We remember the drive-ins and double-dates and college road trips. Maybe now we've graduated to a big SUV or a luxury car full of amenities or maybe it's a truck that still gets pampered. "It was with that love affair for cars in mind that we decided Americans should be able to choose their all-time personal favorite," said Stephen Henson, Kelley Blue Book's marketing chief. "Instead of some board of experts deciding, we wanted this to be the people's choice, and the response was overwhelming." Since 1926, Kelley Blue Book has been America's leading provider of automotive pricing and value information. The nation's most popular automotive Web site, kbb.com, attracts 2.5 million unique visitors a month generating over 16 million pricing reports on new and used vehicles. Kelley Blue Book continues to enhance the consumer experience, positioning itself as a one-stop shopping guide for the car buyer.
