Visteon: Your Car, Your Life. Prepare to Merge.LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5 -- Technology that merges life's conveniences with a powerful driving experience is featured by Visteon Automotive Systems at this year's International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Visteon is unveiling at CES the automotive aftermarket version of its in- car computing system -- ICES (Information, Communication, Entertainment, Safety and Security). Available to consumers for the first time this summer, ICES allows drivers to optimize time traditionally spent away from home and office. With the use of simple voice commands, ICES provides drivers with access to the Internet where they can check email and obtain real-time information such as news, weather reports and stock prices. ICES also provides access to a turn-by-turn navigation system. ICES is activated by Visteon Voice Technology(TM), which allows drivers to stay connected while keeping their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel. "Visteon's ICES will radically change how time is spent in a vehicle," said David Peace, Visteon's vice president for global aftermarket operations. "As cars and trucks become much more than basic transportation -- a mobile office, an entertainment center, and an information source -- consumers are seeking to have their vehicles become a natural extension of their lifestyles. Visteon's ICES does that by creating a seamless link between home, office and car." Powered by an Intel(R) Pentium Processor and built on Microsoft's Windows CE operating system, Visteon's ICES can be seen for the first time in a vehicle -- a Ford Windstar TekSport concept car -- on display at the Visteon booth (Sands #18423). With a global delivery system of nearly 125 technological, manufacturing, sales and service facilities located in 21 countries, Visteon is leveraging the talents of its 77,000 employees to deliver innovative, consumer-driven systems solutions to its customers.
