Borg-Warner Automotive Sells Coleman CableCHICAGO, Jan. 4 -- Borg-Warner Automotive, Inc. announced that, effective December 30, 1999, it completed the sale of Coleman Cable, a producer of wire and cable for utilities and other industries, to a group of equity investors including management for an estimated $140,250,000 less debt of approximately $3 million. Borg-Warner Automotive acquired Coleman Cable as part of its purchase of Kuhlman Corporation in March 1999. BWA announced at that time that it was one of two businesses that were not strategic and would be sold. Chicago-based Borg-Warner Automotive, Inc. is a product leader in highly engineered components and systems for vehicle powertrain applications worldwide. The company operates 60 manufacturing and technical facilities in 13 countries. Customers include Ford, DaimlerChrysler, General Motors, Toyota, Caterpillar, Navistar, PSA and VW Group.
