Marks Strongest Sales Year in Company HistoryBest Month Ever Caps Record-Setting Year for Land Rover LANHAM, Md., Jan. 4 -- 1999 was the best sales year in company history for Land Rover North America, Inc. Sales topped out at 29,380 units, representing a 37.1 percent increase over 1998. The December 1999 result of 3,307 units also marked the company's best sales month ever. Eight times during 1999, Land Rover established new monthly sales records. Howard Mosher, president, Land Rover North America, said, "Our result in 1999-the best sales year in company history and 37.1 percent increase over 1998-is reason for Land Rover North America and its retail partners to be proud. It was a good year for the industry and a great one for Land Rover. Range Rover, by all measures, continues to surpass our sales expectations, and Discovery Series II, in its first full year, proved to be a big success in the marketplace. We look forward to building on this success in 2000."
