ADP to Provide Hayes-Ligon Service Pricing Guides to Hyundai Dealers
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.--Jan. 3, 2000--Hyundai Motor America has selected ADP Dealer Services to supply its Hayes-Ligon Service Pricing Guides as an estimating tool to its dealers. The new guides provide the cost of parts, labor, hazardous waste disposal and taxes for the 100 most common service operations and are fully integrated with ADP(R) dealer management systems. "These new guides will help our dealers increase their share of the $180 billion plus automotive service market," said Bob McKenzie, Service Development Manager for Hyundai Motor America. "We selected ADP as the exclusive provider of our branded service guides because we knew from previous experience that they do an outstanding job.""Our Hayes-Ligon Service Pricing Guides are a key component in the integrated solutions ADP delivers to retailers and manufacturers," said Mike Martone, President, ADP Dealer Services. "We are pleased to be Hyundai's partner of choice in their efforts to ensure the success of Hyundai dealers."
"Hyundai is upgrading our service operations in order to get a larger slice of the consumer's automotive repair dollar," McKenzie continued. "The reason the overall dealer market share is only about 20% today is that many people view dealers as expensive and inconvenient. Dealer pricing guides can help to turn those attitudes around. They make it possible for our service advisors to give customers exact prices in advance over the phone in less than a minute."
"The pricing guides also help our dealers reduce their costs," McKenzie continued. "The NADA says that the average technician spends one hour per day at the parts counter. Service pricing guides eliminate the need for technicians and parts counter personnel to get involved in the pricing process. The service advisor also spends much less time on calculating prices and can focus on what we want him to be doing - asking the customer for the order and providing excellent service."
The ADP Hayes-Ligon Service Pricing Guides are compiled under the direction of a team consisting primarily of former service and parts managers with approximately 400 years of combined experience. The guides can be provided in the form of software that can roll the estimate to an appointment or work order and can automatically check parts availability. Dealers can also use the product stand-alone on a personal computer or obtain paper pricing guides. Updates for both software and paper guides are provided on a monthly basis.
