Yazaki North America Named an Official Sponsor Of the North American International Auto ShowCANTON, Mich., Jan. 3 -- Yazaki North America, Inc. (YNA), a Tier One electronic parts and technology supplier to the automotive industry, announced today that it has been selected by the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) as an official show sponsor. NAIAS 2000 will be held at Cobo Center in Detroit from January 9 - January 23, 2000. "We are very proud to be involved as an official sponsor of the NAIAS," said Nigel Thompson, executive vice president of core planning, Yazaki North America. "It makes perfect sense to partner one of the most important auto shows in the world with one of the world's largest automotive suppliers. It seems fitting, indeed." As part of its sponsorship, YNA will exhibit on the Cobo Center Main Concourse just outside the Macomb entrance to the show floor. The state-of- the-art display will feature some of YNA's current and future technologies in automotive electrical and electronic components. NAIAS Senior Co-Chairman Russ Shelton said he was pleased to learn of YNA's interest in the auto show. "Each year at about this time we're asked how the NAIAS will top itself from the previous show," said Shelton. "Certainly, the excellent and innovative vehicles that the global automakers unveil to the world here are the main reasons the show continues to be successful. However, Tier One suppliers, like Yazaki, which provides advanced technology and components on most of the vehicles featured at the NAIAS, are also critical to the success and continuous growth of the show. Quite frankly, we're pleased to be affiliated with Yazaki and look forward to a beneficial partnership." Yazaki Corporation is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of wiring harnesses, instrumentation, junction blocks, connector systems, modules, electronics and advanced technology. Worldwide the company employs more than 100,000 people in 30 countries, 1,500 of whom are based in the company's new North American corporate headquarters and research center in Canton, Mich.
