WOODBURY, N.Y.--Jan. 3, 2000--Research Frontiers Incorporated , a leading developer of SPD light control technology, announced today that it has appointed John N. Tobias to the newly-created position of Director of Automotive Marketing.Research Frontiers' patented suspended particle device (SPD) technology for controlling light has a myriad of applications in the automotive industry, including "smart" sunvisors, rear-view mirrors, sunroofs, vehicle windows, and dashboard instrument panels and navigation systems.
"Because of the recent increase in the Company's pace of granting licenses relating to cars and trucks, and because of the strategic importance that SPD technology can have in the worldwide automotive industry, we felt it necessary to add to our resources in this area," noted Robert L. Saxe, President of Research Frontiers.
John Tobias served in the United States Air Force from 1967-1971, and received his Masters of Business Administration from Northern Illinois University in 1975. He has taught courses on marketing and consumer behavior, and has appeared as a regular investment and market commentator on television, as well as being the author of several articles in this field. Mr. Tobias also has coached and managed youth hockey in Rockford, Illinois and sits on the Executive Advisory Board of Northern Illinois University.
