North American Auto Production Hits All-Time Record
--Dec. 30, 1999--TOPIC: The United States, Canada and Mexico have all posted record units for auto production in 1999, according to Ward's Automotive Reports as reported by the Associated Press. North America produced 17.62 million units this year, including automobiles, medium- and heavy-duty-trucks. This is an increase of 9.9 percent from last year, and easily surpasses 1997's previous record of 16,055,542 units. The U.S. accounted for over 13 million units, Canada topped 3 million units, and Mexico produced a reported 1,541,624 units.
