Carey International Announces Major Expansion In Italy - Company Signs License Agreement for the Country of Italy -WASHINGTON, Dec. 23 -- Carey International, Inc. recently announced that it has signed a License Agreement for the country of Italy with chauffeured vehicle service provider UCS S.R.L., owned by Francesco Mattiazzo and Andrea Barocchi, effective January 1, 2000. The Mattiazzo and Barocchi families have a combined 140 years experience in providing chauffeured services in Italy. Operating through a centralized reservation and control center in Venice more than 150 chauffeured vehicles will be available in all cities in Italy including the latest models of Mercedes limousines and sedans, executive vans and minibuses and coaches. Vincent A. Wolfington, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carey International, stated, "Italy is one of the largest markets for chauffeured services in Europe. The appointment of UCS as our licensee positions Carey well within the Italian market and follows our corporate strategy of owning operations in the UK and France and strengthening our franchise network in key European markets by implementing our successful sales, marketing and operating strategies."
