JM Family Named By FORTUNE As One of the Top 50 Best Places to Work
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla.--Dec. 23, 1999--For the second year in a row, JM Family Enterprises has been included in FORTUNE magazine's annual list of "100 Best Companies to Work for in America."Ranked 49th, JM Family once again is the only Florida-based company listed in the top 50. Other Florida companies included on the top 100 list are Publix Super Markets (ranked 73rd) and Orlando Regional Healthcare (ranked 85th). Also, JM Family is one of only 65 companies from last year's list of winners that also made this year's cut.
"Our company was founded on a belief that there is no asset more valuable to a company than its associates," said Pat Moran, president and CEO of JMFE. "Providing an environment where our associates feel supported and appreciated makes good business sense. We owe our company's success to their hard work and dedication."
The "Best Companies" report is FORTUNE's third annual and will appear in the Jan. 10th issue. To compile the list, FORTUNE was assisted by Robert Levering and Milton Moskowitz, best-selling authors of The 100 Best Companies to Work for in America. This year they had a record number of candidates that competed for a slot among the top 100 companies - 236, up from 206 last year. More than two-thirds of the scoring used to evaluate the companies is based on answers employees provide on an employee survey conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute in San Francisco. To be eligible, a company had to be at least 10 years old and have a minimum of 500 full-time employees.
