Collins & Aikman Honored by PACE(TM) 2000 AwardsTROY, Mich., Dec. 23-- Collins & Aikman's Dura Convertible Systems, Inc. division, announced today that it has been awarded an honorable mention from the PACE(TM) 2000 Awards Program. The honorable mention received by Collins & Aikman was in recognition of the Company's all- new convertible roof actuation system. Collins & Aikman's new roof actuation system improves convertible top speed of operation by 35 percent, while it simultaneously reduces noise levels by nine decibels, all at a weight that is reduced by 27 percent. The annual PACE(TM) 2000 (Premier Automotive Suppliers Contributions to Excellence) Awards were initiated to pay tribute to automotive suppliers who have embraced innovation or adapted and reinvented themselves to keep up with the constantly rising performance bar of the automotive industry. Of all submitting companies, only eight received the designation of an honorable mention.
