DaimlerChrysler Corporation Reports U.S. and Canadian Assembly Plant Schedule for Week of January 3, 2000
    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 22 -- DaimlerChrysler Corporation
reports all nine U.S. assembly plants and all three Canadian
assembly plants will be closed from December 24, 1999 to January 2, 2000.
Operations will resume at seven of the nine U.S. assembly plants and two of
the three Canadian assembly plants on January 3, 2000.
    Jefferson-North (Detroit, Mich.) will operate three seven-and-a-half hour
shifts during the week.  St. Louis-North (Fenton, Mo.), St. Louis-South
(Fenton, Mo.) and Toledo (Ohio) will operate two eight-hour shifts.  Dodge
City Complex-Warren Truck (Mich.) will operate two nine-hour shifts.  Newark
(Del.) will operate two nine-and-a-half hour shifts during the week and Conner
Ave. (Mich.) will operate one eight-hour shift.  Belvidere (Ill.) will not
operate due to inventory adjustments.  Sterling Heights (Mich.) will not
operate due to inventory adjustments and facility changes.
    In Ontario, Canada, Bramalea and the Windsor Assembly Plant will operate
three seven-and-a-half hour shifts during the week.  Pillette will not operate
due to inventory adjustments.
