    TROY, Mich., Dec. 22 -- Collins & Aikman Corporation
today announced the promotion of Ronald T. Lindsay to Senior Vice
President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.  Lindsay will play a
critical role in providing legal guidance to all aspects of Collins & Aikman's
corporate operation.

    Lindsay, previously Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate
Secretary of all of the operating companies, began his career with Collins &
Aikman in 1986 as Assistant General Counsel.  Lindsay holds a Bachelor of
Science degree with honors in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State
University and a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina.
    Lindsay will be located in the Collins & Aikman Global Headquarters in
Troy, Michigan.
