Ingersoll-Rand Completes Sale of Automation DivisionWOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Dec. 21 -- Ingersoll-Rand Company today announced that it has completed the sale of its Automation Division to Cinetic Automation Corp., a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Fives- Lille Group, Montreuil, France. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The Automation Division includes businesses engaged in developing engineered systems for the automated assembly and production of vehicle powertrains and for automated parts finishing and cleaning. The division's annual sales are approximately $110 million. "This divestiture is another step in our strategy to focus our businesses in the global growth markets of security and safety, climate control, infrastructure, and industrial productivity," said Herb Henkel, president and chief executive officer of Ingersoll-Rand. Ingersoll-Rand is a major diversified industrial equipment and components manufacturer. Its product lines serve a wide range of industrial and commercial markets worldwide.
